The Help Desk Technician is an onsite position that will support inbound tickets and phone calls from our employees in all locations including our remote workforce. Duties include supporting user’s hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones and printers) and software requests in person and over the phone, email or web; creating/tracking/resolving/closing tickets, installing and provisioning new hardware and software.
Qualifications for Help Desk Technician:
- 1 year of experience working in a help desk or similar role (2 years preferred)
- College level courses in IT and/or certification preferred
- Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP/MCSA, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+ OR possessing the drive to achieve professional IT certifications applicable to the services and solutions used by Ardmore Roderick
- Knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows server and desktop OS, MS Office and Windows Networking
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including basic administration tasks (like user management, password resets)
- General knowledge of MS Active Directory (traditional and Azure) – including onboarding new computers and/or users
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills of technical issues
Responsibilities for Help Desk Technician:
- Manage Help Desk tickets in a timely manner
- Respond to employee issues via phone, email and computer chat
- Provide Employee assistance
- Document employee interactions
- Run diagnostics to resolve employee reported issues
- Escalate issues to the next Tier with next level of difficulty
- Install, make changes and repair computer hardware and software
- Follow-up with employees to ensure issues are resolved
Additional knowledge preferred:
Zendesk ticketing system
Experience with Linux, VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto networking
Knowledge of IP telephony
