What You'll Do
The Helpdesk Network Engineer performs a wide variety of technical duties, including the support of the Company's IT infrastructure through diagnoses, while requiring minimal supervision. A strong customer service mindset is the key to succeeding in this role.

Salary range: $65,000 - 75,000 annually

What You'll Do
The Helpdesk Network Engineer performs a wide variety of technical duties, including the support of the Company's IT infrastructure through diagnoses, while requiring minimal supervision. A strong customer service mindset is the key to succeeding in this role.
- End User Support for PC, Mac, and Mobile solutions (Tablets/iPhone/iPad/Android)
- Deskside support for approximately 150 internal users
- Remote support for approximately 100 offsite users (local and global offices) via phone or remote assistance
- Install, configure, troubleshoot and customize M365 per user's preferences
- Track and monitor existing and potential computer problems. Analyze, research, and assist with resolving technical problems with software and hardware
- Maintains hardware and software asset library for the IT department
- Manage multiple helpdesk requests for assistance concerning desktop, laptop, printer and other computer related problems
- Take ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolution
- Develop desktop procedures and training guides
- Setup handset and peripherals to in-house PBX system (Shoretel) and VoIP system (RingCentral)
- Provide support with various audio/video equipment for Zoom and Teams meetings/training
- Network Administration/Engineering Duties
- User/Group Administration tasks including adding new users, groups, and rights using Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 E-mail Support including add/remove users, distribution list, and archiving of emails
- Regular monitoring/response on cybersecurity alerts/notifications
- Implement network security policies and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the network remains robust and secure
- Manage and maintain DNS and DHCP servers to ensure proper name resolution on the network and IP address assignment on the devices on the network
- Manage and troubleshoot TCP/IP protocols, addressing, and subnetting to enable effective communication between devices on the network
- Use network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
- Oversee server hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance to ensure servers operate optimally and reliably
- Maintain network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls, to ensure proper functioning of the network
- Manage VLANs on switches to segment and optimize network traffic, improving security and performance
- Maintain Network Printing. This includes basic queue administration, monitoring of traffic, and addition/deletion of print queues as needed
- Assist in installing/configuring wireless network solutions
- Preliminary support functions in internal web application
- Assist the Director of Global IT & Infrastructure in various network administration and monitoring activities
- Other duties may be assigned
Bring It!
- Four-year college degree in Computer Science and/or MCTS/A+ or equivalent certification with a minimum of 4 years of experience
- 5-7 years of experience in a technical desktop support role; 5+ years in supporting computers (Mac and PC) in a networked environment; 3+ years of Microsoft/Office 365 and above and Microsoft Azure/Active Directory experience; 3+ years of Windows Server 2012/2016 OS management
- 2+ years of experience in VLAN, Routing and Firewall support
- 2+ years of experience in Server Hardware Technology (RAID/SCSI) support
- 2+ years of experience in Data/Backup and Recovery support
- Strong Desktop support skills including support for PC and MAC computers, with emphasis in Windows 10/11 and MAC OS X operating systems
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting internet connectivity
- Strong understanding of relationship between switches, patch panels and network nodes
- Understanding of DNS services
- Ability to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot PC hardware
- Expert in PC and handheld operating systems hardware and software (Windows and Mac)
- Knowledge of Helpdesk tools for tracking issues and resolution
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products
- Previous experience supporting Zoom and MS Teams Video Conferencing infrastructure
- Functional knowledge of wiring and cabling standards for telecommunications equipment
- Strong Customer Service Support skills with various levels of business users
- Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration skills to work in a team environment; Possess the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexible, willing, and able to do many different tasks - often changing assignments and priorities on short notice
- Able to work flexible hours and be available for on-call support including occasional weekends and overtime
- Willing to occasionally travel overnight for work and/or training
- Able to lift 50 lbs
