Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a HIM Specialist

Position type: Full-Time Direct Hire

Duration: Direct Hire

Location: Syracuse, NY

Job/ Shift Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM

As an HIM Specialist you will:

• Prep, scan, perform quality checks, box records as assigned
• Assist with purging of records according to retention policy
• Assist customers with completing authorizations at window; ensure accuracy
• Retrieve electronic faxes and forward to appropriate party as needed
• Fulfill urgent requests for release of information from window and fax
• Assist with Release of Information as necessary
• Assist with processing duplicate medical record reports and merge duplicates
• Work on additional projects as assigned by HIM Director

The ideal candidate will have:

• Must be skilled with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, & Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all external and internal customers via telephone, email, and in person.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be a critical thinker with ability to resolve problems and find solutions.
• Must be able to independently work on additional projects assigned by HIM Director such as productivity monitors or quality checks.
• Associate degree in health information technology and RHIT credential preferred.
• Previous Health Information, data management & electronic health record system experience preferred.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $17 - $17.85 per hour with no RHIT and $20.57 - $21.60 per hour with RHIT

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
