- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-09: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying current techniques in oral history interviews, processing procedures, and historical writing; 2) Using digital recording, transcribing equipment, and computerized systems to save and maintain sound recordings; and 3) Researching, writing, and editing historical manuscripts using original historical documents and/or oral history interviews as source material.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess

Degree: history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history.
or

Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Applicants may also qualify based on education OR a combination of education and experience, in lieu of the one year specialized experience indicated in the Qualifications Section.
GS-11 GRADE LEVEL
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
GS-09 GRADE LEVEL
2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree
