Home Delivery Manager

Summary:
We are looking to make a critical addition to our talented Circulation leadership team. As a Home Delivery Manager, you will provide resources, expectations, support, and encouragement to Distributor's to meet their service goals. You will plan and implement new programs while meeting service and circulation goals for home delivery and single copy. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced team and can be adaptable with the ever changing Distribution environment.
What you will do:

• Oversee the operations of 3 Bay Area Distribution facilities to include visits during early morning operating hours.
• Contact subscribers and work with the Distributors to resolve delivery problems. Check deliveries when necessary to ensure delivery concerns are resolved in a timely manner. Set performance standards and expectations for Distributors
• Collaborate with the Circulation Operations management team, Customer Service Director and other staff in the Circulation Division
• Manage paperwork necessary to ensure that all independent contractor agreements remain current, accounting adjustments are accurate and submitted timely
• Work with Distributors to meet customer service expectations of a complete dry readable newspaper on time, and as requested by the subscriber
• Manage the distribution of newspapers and meet service requirements of various alternate products. May be required to deliver a newspaper route or redeliver a missed delivery to a subscriber's residence

What you will bring:

• 2-3 years of circulation or distribution experience
• Ability to lead, plan, organize and manage the work of a Distribution Center in a shared-leadership environment
• Ability to analyze and compile statistical data in order to manage key data
• Must make decisions daily based on late truck arrivals, Distributor delivery problems affecting the delivery of the core newspapers and alternate partners
• Has regular interaction with transportation and Alternate publication partners
• Proficient in the use of personal computer applications such as Excel and Word
• Must be proficient in basic accounting functions pertaining to home delivery and single copy carrier billing
• Fluent in Vietnamese is a PLUS!

Work environment:
Schedule may require working early morning hours and delivery of routes. This is a hybrid role with onsite requirements based on business needs. Must be located near the Bay Area.
Branch managers work in the early morning, fast paced environment and must meet delivery deadlines of up to 40,000 papers every day. Work duties are somewhat variable and require the selection of standard procedures from among several that apply.
The annual salary range is $67,000 - $75,000. This role is also eligible for a bonus based on performance (up to $12,000 annually). Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
