Hospitalist - Physician
Job Description
The Hospitalist, in collaboration and consultation with an interdisciplinary team, will manage the care of patients hospitalized with complex acute health problems and facilitate continuum of care from admission through the discharge process.
Responsibilities include the initial assessment, follow up evaluation and management, and discharge preparation of hospitalistsβ patients including but not limited to obtaining pertinent medical/non medical history, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting various diagnostics tests, ordering pharmacological therapies, consulting and collaborating with a diverse compliment of specialists, executing complex medical decision making, communicating with patient families, and coordinating discharge. Procedural skills not required, but if able, may be utilized in providing house doctor coverage as well.
