We are currently looking for a Solution Architect experienced in HPC (High Performance Computing) to join the Advanced Computing Business Unit department in Client. You will act as the technical domain specialist on HPC disciplines while also being responsible for the technical requirements in this area. The main driver for this role is to ensure significant growth in the BDS HPC pipeline and therefore enable BDS to address a greater volume of deals. It is vital that the successful candidate has a large body of technical and HPC architecture expertise, in addition to some presales expertise.

Mission:
- Design solutions based on the Client HPC solutions portfolio and any appropriate hardware, software or solution, including from external sources (storage and network for example)
- Be the technical entry point in the HPC presales group:
- In HPC and server architecture
- Network, Infiniband and storage technologies
- HPC Software, MPI knowledge, HPC benchmarking and performance scaling expertise
- Drive or participate in several RFI/RFP or opportunity qualification activities
- Provide technical and technological assistance to all presales and sales teams
- Collect and study all requirements and needs expressed by various customers and translate them to technical specifications.
- These will be typically hardware, firmware, software features, or development requests that might be designed by Client R&D
- Help imagining, documenting, and presenting the Client HPC technologies roadmaps in internal and external meetings, typically to key customers
- Be able to propose innovative and creative solutions in the above-mentioned areas
- Be able to influence customers at the technological level before issuing their RFP's in order to take advantage of the Client solutions or roadmap (example: influence on customers decision metrics)
- Have an in-depth understanding of the above-mentioned Client solutions (at the hardware, firmware, software and business levels)
- Have a vast culture on the competitive landscape and trends driving High Performance Computing.
- Be able to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of competition at the technological level.
- Be able to positively argue against the competition and position the Client portfolio
- Be able to make presales presentations, from trivial to in-depth technical ones
- HPC hardware and architecture expertise (Client, AMD, Nvidia, Mellanox Infiniband, etc.)
- HPC Networking topologies and technologies
- Cluster file system knowledge (e.g., Lustre, GPFS, CEPH)
- Knowledge and experience with HPC batch job schedulers (e.g., SLURM, PBS)
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles
- Technical Account Management / Escalation Management Skills
- Good interpersonal capabilities and some experience in a customer-facing environment
Optional skills :
- An in-depth working knowledge of Linux,
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as bash and python
- Linux/UNIX deployment, configuration (Ansible, Puppet,)
- Troubleshooting experience
- Customer facing HPC or IT experience are required
- Proficiency to design, build, test, and support systems
