The HR Consultant sits within our HR Shared Services organization. This operations team strives to develop efficient processes, systems and structures in support of each of our HR functions. This role is primarily responsible for supporting and coordinating with benefits, compensation and payroll. You will advise and consult CNA HR functions and HR Business Partner teams to ensure high-quality and accurate delivery of people processes in these areas.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports auditing, reporting, budgeting, testing and planning across benefits and compensation HR Centers of Excellence.
  • Supports ad hoc payroll processing.
  • Manage and maintain invoice processing for all HR Centers of Excellence.
  • Provides employee issue resolution for complex and nuanced situations within payroll, compensation and benefits.
  • Assists with project management for existing or upcoming initiatives within payroll, compensation and benefits.
  • Builds and maintains consistent documentation and creation of materials to support processes for payroll, compensation and benefits.
  • Participates in and supports complex HR projects and ad-hoc requests that may relate to any HR function.
  • Establishes strong relationships with HR partners and provides guidance in support of HR goals related to benefits, payroll and compensation.
  • Advises in the continuous improvement of HR practices, procedures and processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Broad knowledge of HR business functions and specific knowledge related to benefits, compensation and payroll.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of organizational skills and ability to manage and complete work in an efficient and thorough manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize completion of multiple tasks/projects in support of several business partners and leaders.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex problems in order to complete tasks.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Ability to deliver consistent services utilizing HR work methods to address people, process and technology related issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, HR Systems (ie. ServiceNow, WorkDay, Cornerstone) and other business-related software systems and the use of data reporting technologies.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
  • Typically, a minimum of four years of related work experience.
