HR Business Development Professional
Job Description
This is a client-facing role responsible for HR Business Development leading complex deals (e.g. acquisitions divestitures strategic outsourcing outbound outsourcing joint ventures) having global or international scope which includes multiple lines of business run by IBM Corporate Development external advisory firms/consultants and/or dealing with particularly complex client situations and organizational change dynamics. This role is responsible for leading global business transactions as an HR Business Development functional subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will act as an effective change agent advisor facilitator and/or leader for the clients and IBM making critical business decisions quickly and independently. Additionally they are proven relationship builders with a demonstrated ability to develop and nurture strategic partnerships alliances and relationships within IBM and externally. They must understand an external party’s (e.g. client’s seller’s or buyer’s) business and HR objectives for the transaction as well as IBM’s objectives and proposed deal structure to then develop appropriate HR solutions as part of the deal. After deal closure they support employee communication events employment transition activities programs and policies in accordance with the negotiated terms and conditions working with the acquired population or the new company.

Employees in this job role are responsible for providing HR support for business transactions (e.g. Acquisitions Divestitures Repatriations Intellectual Property (IP) Licensing and Strategic Outsourcing opportunities). They must understand an external party’s (e.g. client’s seller’s or buyer’s) business and HR objectives for the transaction as well as IBM’s objectives and proposed deal structure. They then develop appropriate HR solutions provide input to the business case and associated budgets participate in due diligence manage HR issues and risks support the negotiation of HR-related terms & conditions and prepare employee transition and integration plans prior to deal closure. After deal closure they support employee communication events employment implementation and transition activities and integration of employees onto IBM’s HR programs and policies in accordance with the negotiated terms and conditions. The particular scope of responsibility for these activities varies by deal type and deal team role assignment. Focuses on Individual/Team Objectives and Developing Professional Effectiveness.
Engages in the operational aspects of IBM’s HR Business Development programs Primary responsibility for:
- You will get exposed to exciting projects across all Geos depending on business needs language and HRBD support requirements
- You will work with international teams at all stages of projects with people transfer in close cooperation with local HR teams and experienced HRBD consultants
- Key activities will include preparation of presentations working on various IBM HR tools Data management.
- You will engage and coodinate with different HR stakeholders
- Some travel may be required based on business demand.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Employees in this specialty should have:

Knowledge of various HR Business Development Information Systems such as Lotus Notes TeamRooms and deal tracking tools as well as HR management systems like Workday Kenexa/Workbench/Brassring etc.

Ability to execute the different Human Resource Delivery processing activities such as Blue Pages loads Kenexa support Data Maintenance and Payroll.

A good understanding of the end-to-end HR Management System and Processes.

Ability to perform system testing.

In this role skill (or knowledge) in Excel is important for success.
