The Role:
As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for four key areas:

  • Building strong relationships with the functional heads of the company as well as all team members
  • Enabling a high-performing environment, supported by transparency, accountability, collaboration, and empathy 
  • Partnering with leadership on key people initiatives including talent management and career development
  • Represent the Carrot culture throughout the entire organization and help others to do the same

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the leadership team and functional managers to resolve employee relations issues; provide coaching and counseling to management and staff 
  • Proactively engage with leaders on people strategy through workforce planning, organization design, and structure
  • Create and execute strategies that engage, retain, and develop our Carrot employees 
  • Understand the business, talent, and organization strategy and align these strategies to the current and future workforce needs and initiatives of the business 
  • Comfortable presenting to the organization on People related initiatives 
  • Confident in conducting sensitive meetings between managers and employees confidentially 
  • Act as a coach, partner, and confidant to employees at all levels 
  • Partner with the collective People team on the development and execution of talent management programs and processes 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal/compliance requirements related to employees' day-to-day management, reduce legal risks, and ensure regulatory and policy compliance 
  • Maintain working knowledge of trends and best practices in employee retention, engagement, recognition, productivity, and incentive programs 
  • Use data to help develop and drive the People agenda  
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and translate engagement data into action plans
  • Provide compensation support including recommendations based on company philosophy and leveling guidance 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in HR
  • Excellent collaborator in partnering with the extended People team on talent and culture development
  • Proven ability to take initiative, get things done, and prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Have confidence in openly negotiating and influencing others, demonstrating courage and the ability to effectively push back with leaders with data driven and logical rationale 
  • Demonstrate credibility, integrity, and trust. Naturally collaborative with proven ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience managing complex employee relations with strong tact, diplomacy and discretion
  • Strong communication skills, passion for learning, self-motivation, and self-awareness

Compensation: 

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The expected base salary for this position will range from $97,000 - $133,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
