Description
As an HR Business Partner at Everspring, you will play a critical role in aligning our human resources strategies with our business objectives. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to support and enhance our organization's talent management, employee engagement, and performance management processes. You will play a key role in managing our payroll and benefits processes. Your expertise in HR practices and policies will contribute to the development and implementation of effective HR programs that foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
This role reports to the Executive Director, HR and Organizational Development. We're operating in a hybrid model and expect the HR Business Partner to work in our Chicago Loop office at least two days per week.
Responsibilities:
The HRBP will assist the Executive Director, HR and Organizational Development in a range of activities and responsibilities, ranging from technical to organizational culture and development. These include, but are not limited to the following, all in consultation with and coordinated by the ED, HR.

Support the administration of benefits programs, including leaves of absence, enrollment, and associated changes. Act as the first line of response for employee inquiries and issue resolution on benefits-related issues.

Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Collaborate with the ED HR on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Promote a positive work environment through effective employee engagement initiatives.
- Surface employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary issues, and address and resolve those matters in coordination with the ED HR.
- Assist in developing onboarding programs to ensure smooth assimilation of new hires.
Performance Management:
- Support the performance management process, including the goal setting, performance review, and development planning processes.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related matters, as appropriate.
- Identify training and development needs and facilitate learning opportunities for employees.
Compensation, Payroll, and Benefits Administration:
- Accurate and timely processing of employee payroll information, answering employee questions about payroll-related issues and resolving employee payroll-related concerns.
Support the administration of benefits programs, including leaves of absence, enrollment, and associated changes. Act as the first line of response for employee inquiries and issue resolution on benefits-related issues.
HR Policies and Compliance:
- Develop and update HR policies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Stay up to date with HR trends and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements to HR processes.
- Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of employee records and data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
- SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
- Experience working within organizations with 100+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, policies, and employment laws.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and HR program development.
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration through a HRIS like Paylocity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- High level of confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Full vaccination - as defined by the CDC - is required
