Job Description
AIR Communities is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team and provide dedicated support to our West Area Operations, specifically focusing on our onsite teams at apartment communities. In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment, supporting hiring efforts, managing performance, enhancing engagement, promoting retention, and handling teammate relations and conflict resolution.

Essential Functions:

  • Strategic HR Support:
    • Act as the primary HR Business Partner for West Area Operations, collaborating closely with onsite managers and teams to understand and address their HR needs and challenges.
    • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with business objectives and enhance operational effectiveness at apartment communities.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management:
    • Support the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and selection to onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
    • Partner with hiring managers to facilitate recruitment efforts, ensuring timely and effective hiring of qualified candidates.
  • Employee Engagement and Retention:
    • Implement programs and activities to promote employee engagement and enhance retention within the West Area Operations teams.
    • Conduct regular employee feedback sessions, surveys, and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Teammate Relations and Conflict Resolution:
    • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for teammates regarding HR policies, procedures, and practices.
    • Proactively address teammate relations issues and facilitate conflict resolution to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. PHR or SPHR preferred.
    • Proficiency in state (California) and federal labor laws and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources roles, with a focus on HR business partnering or HR management.
    • Demonstrated experience in supporting onsite teams or decentralized operations, preferably in the property management or real estate industry.
    • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
    • Proven ability to drive HR initiatives and programs that contribute to organizational success and employee satisfaction.
    • Ability to visit communities frequently and travel.

    Additional Information
    AIR offers attractive total compensation packages designed to recognize and reward performance at the individual, team and company levels. We start with a competitive base salary and add bonus opportunities and benefit choices topped off with:

    • Expected pay rate of $95,000 - $125,000 plus annual 15% target bonus. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.
