We are looking for an HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our People Operations team. This person will be responsible for supporting leaders and their teams to deliver on Tempus’ business goals and drive company results. They will partner closely with their Finance business partners, Legal team, and other members of the People Ops team to hire, develop and retain talent across Tempus. 

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze HR metrics to understand hiring and attrition trends; partner with HR leadership to develop solutions, programs and policies to support
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. 
  • Provide guidance and input on organizational design, workforce planning and succession planning. 
  • Partner with the Talent Development team to identify training and individual coaching needs for their teams.  Help to evaluate and monitor training programs to ensure success. 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience required
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR credential strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of professional HR business partnering experience in a high demand, high output role with a demonstrated track record of success being an integrated member of a business team. 
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication, public speaking skills and presentation skills to effectively communicate a variety of information and material to applicants, employees, and leadership.
  • Customer-service focused and able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and managers in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Ability to think strategically, while driving and owning initiatives.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible; able to navigate competing priorities. 
  • A general knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, affirmative action and other federal, state and company guidelines preferred
