Job Description

The Company You’ll Join

At Carta we create owners and make private markets liquid.

We live in a world where some people live on the equity stack and enjoy exponential wealth growth and preferential tax treatment; others live on the debt stack and may work their entire lives for a company and retire only with the cash they’ve managed to save from their paychecks. Our contribution to solving the wealth inequality problem is moving people from the debt stack (payroll) to the equity stack. By making it as easy to issue equity to employees as it is to put them on payroll, we can create more owners.

At Carta, we are helpful, transparent, fair, and kind. We are relentless executors, unconventional thinkers, and masters of our craft.

The Team You’ll Work With

Carta is seeking a flexible and strategic HR professional who will act as a consultant to the Investor Services Delivery leadership team, develop and execute HR strategies, and build programs that drive organizational and people effectiveness. The HRBP role at Carta builds strong partnerships with the business, consistently seeks opportunities to problem solve (we live in the gray area), and provides strategic and operational support to the leaders and functions you support.

The Delivery function comprises customer facing roles such as Support, new customer Onboarding, Operations, Enablement and other service oriented teams such as Fund Administration, Tax Operations, and Underwriting. The Investor Services Delivery team specifically comprises Cartans in Brazil, Singapore and the United States. You will work with leaders across all of these geographies, both learning about local working norms as well as pulling a thread of Carta culture and People initiatives throughout.

The Problems You’ll Solve
  • Provide personalized counsel to the business and help set the department’s People priorities (not just HR best practices for HR sake)
  • Partner with the business to roll out key initiatives (performance management, compensation, benefits, development programs, etc.)
  • Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, succession planning, leveling, benchmarking, etc.
  • Successfully influence others by providing direction, knowledge, and support to create a high-performing organization (creative problem solving, not just ‘by the book’)
  • Build strong relationships with employees, management, and leadership team through coaching and mentoring
The Impact You’ll Have

You’ll be a trusted advisor and confidante to global business leaders in Investor Services Delivery. You’ll understand the business inside and out in order to best support current Cartans, future Cartans and leadership going forward.

About You
  • You have a passion for understanding the business goals, finding creative solutions, and improving team processes
  • You have experience working in a fast-paced technology company
  • 3+ years of HRBP experience
  • You have successfully coached and influenced leadership in a previous role
  • You have a high degree of empathy and are a great communication (both written and verbally)
  • You have great organizational skills, pay close attention to detail, and have an ability to complete competing priorities efficiently
  • You have the ability to interface effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization
  • And, you must maintain confidentiality and use outstanding judgment on a daily basis
The Interview Process

Throughout the process, you’ll have the chance to meet and interact with both People team members and business stakeholders from within Investor Services Delivery

We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate. If accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are needed, connect with us via email at [email protected]. As a company, we value fairness, helpfulness, transparency, leadership and build our teams around these values. Check out our careers page to get to know us better as you think about your next step at Carta.
