Job Description:

  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues based on applicable employment law and company precedent.
  • Responds to inquiries from employees/managers regarding policies, procedures, and programs in a timely manner.
  • Prepares corrective action documents and, as applicable, employee separation notices and related documentation, after reviewing circumstances and advising management of potential risks
  • Investigates internal complaints of harassment/discrimination and other employment-related issues
  • Assists Corporate Benefits in the administration of FMLA and ADA
  • Responds to complaints from federal/state/local agencies related to workplace harassment/discrimination
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Participates in management training for interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review and harassment/discrimination, as needed/requested
  • Represents organization at employment-related hearings and investigations
  • Travel is required for location visits, investigations, agency audits, Legal issues, etc. Travel requirements do not typically exceed 30% of job

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in business-related field or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience directly in Employee Relations
  • Computer proficiency required in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and HRIS
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and ADP preferred
