HR Business Partner, Mobile
Job Description
Samsung Electronics America is seeking an HR Business Partner to support our Mobile Retail organization. The ideal candidate will support the full employee journey, serving as a partner and conduit between the various HR centers of excellence and the business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong business acumen, bringing best practice and innovative ideas.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manages and maintains employee relations within supported client teams to monitor employee engagement
- Facilitates activities related to coaching, counseling and support of assigned client teams
- Facilitates annual cycle activities and project initiatives in partnership with HR COEs such as compensation, L&D, talent management and other programs as needed
- Supports HR decisioning by leveraging data in order to make fact-based decisions that enable the business to achieve its objectives
- Maintains data integrity and provides reporting from multiple sources including Workday and individuals related to headcount and other related data
- Support projects and ad hoc reporting as requested
- Makes decisions within guidelines and policies; escalates issues and concerns appropriately and in a timely manner
- Manages design and planning of significant change management and/or reorganization
- Conducts intake sessions around employee relations issues; partners with the Employee Relations team on investigative matters
- Provide feedback to COEs about program and policy effectiveness; partners with COEs on standard annual and ad hoc initiatives
- Manages Annual Cycle and Performance Management initiatives for assigned groups
- Manages headcount planning including activities tied to Sr. Leadership read-outs, reporting and analysis, and on- going efforts of workforce strategy planning
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of progressive experience, preferably in one or more areas of HR discipline. PHR/SHRM-CP/SCP preferred but not required.
- Prior experience supporting fast paced organizations and teams in various areas of the employee journey
- Prior retail, mobile, high-tech and/or consumer electronics industry experience preferred
- Working knowledge of government regulations, professional best practices, and industry trends as they apply to all HR related functions and responsibilities required
- Able to partner with senior leaders and build relationships
- Advanced/high proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience using Workday HCM system is preferred
- Strong ability to use data to provide insights or recommendations to the business
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous Human Resources related projects and programs in a changing corporate environment
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, directors and managers with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple strategic programs and simultaneous performance objectives. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents. Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience. Ability to support a cross-functional Samsung team to achieve customer contracted objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements. Assist in and if needed direct the Samsung team in lab and field trials related to introduction of products sold to the customer.
