HR Business Partner - Wellbore Technologies
Job Description
- Serves as the internal subject matter expert on internal HR policies and procedures, HR compliance, and employment law matters. Keeps groups informed of changes in HR policies, employment legislation and counsels managers and employees on policies and procedures. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Advises management of appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Conducts investigations to resolve employee relations or legal issues and implements corrective action when required.
- In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition organization, this individual will help drive the recruitment process for positions within 3 business groups and ensure they are resourced effectively. Identifies key skills and competencies for these organizations to support business goals.
- Conducts analysis on HR data in order to provide relevant and impactful HR solutions then conducts related conversations with managers to review and forecast the impact to planned people management actions
- Guides talent management efforts to align employee development and strengths with desired business outcomes (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, etc.).
- Responsible for administration of job descriptions. Creates and maintains the job description database. Works with managers on job and compensation analysis when new jobs are requested, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensures onboarding of new hires and exit processes with terminating employees are administered consistently and effectively.
- Lead exit interviews, analyze feedback, and provide management summary results
- Conducts new hire orientation and all related onboarding activities, ensuring all documentation submitted is complete and filed in a timely manner.
- Creates personnel files for new hires; ensure required documentation is complete prior to hiring.
- Periodic personnel file audit/maintenance to ensure compliance.
- Periodic audit of system records and change requests to ensure high degree of accuracy
- Generate ad hoc and customized data reports in support of Segment HR Team
- Serves as Segment ICP (Incentive Compensation Plan) Coordinator
- Serves as the project lead for special projects and/or committee lead within the Segment as requested.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and synergy across Business Units
- Assist with the local immigration program by coordinating between the employees and the immigration attorneys with knowledge of work visas and permits
- Coaches business leaders in effective execution and administration of the performance management system.
- Oversees and administers the Employee Educational Assistance Program, including review of employee applications and processing requests for approval, reviewing reimbursement requests to ensure compliance with policy and processing information with payroll. Maintains records and provides management reports as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional In Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) or Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) preferred
Experience
- 7 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist

- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, a plus
- High proficiency with MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience working with HR Information Systems
- Thorough understanding of company safety policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge and thorough understanding of all relevant employment law and the willingness to proactively stay on top of legislation changes and local requirements
- Demonstrated ability to independently investigate, resolve and proactively address common employee relations issues
- Thorough understanding and experience working with HR principals, practices, and procedures, including development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of performance management process and experience conducting training and coaching employees and managers to ensure compliance.
- Experience with administration of time recording systems and related policies and procedures including compliance and reporting.
- Experience working within a multi-layered HR organization and ensuring compliance with corporate level policies, procedures and requests.
- Familiar with project management methodology and techniques and experience managing HR projects.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
