We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a HR coordinator on our HR operations team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring2 days a week in the office.
As a HR Coordinator, you will provide operations support to, and perform HR generalist tasks for, HR department and Operations team. Administer and maintain HR/Payroll data and ensure accuracy, security and integrity of organizational data. Serves as liaison between operations, all other HR workstreams and payroll.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR/Payroll Administration
- Independently process and verify all new hire, change, and term activity in Lawson, adhering to pay cycle deadlines, and standard weekly/monthly processing timelines; responsible for communicating documentation to Payroll.
- Review and approve requisitions for new hires.
- Assemble and upload documentation to employees' electronic personnel files.
- Process special payments, Above & Beyond Awards and tuition assistance forms, processing timely payments and reimbursements, following up with employees as needed and submitting all documentation to AP in coordination with Compensation and HRBP teams
- Manage and verify the IDES unemployment claim process.
- Serve as a conduit between HR workstreams and across AMA business units and vendors (specifically Finance, OGC, search vendors, etc.).Create, improve, and train on workflow, standard operating procedures, and process improvements to minimize errors and improve quality.
- Build, edit, format, and enhance monthly reports and documentation as requested.
- Conduct ongoing cross-training to ensure secondary support and serve as back up for other HR operations team functions as needed.
May include other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree required.
2. Minimum 3+ years' experience with HR systems required.
3. Demonstrated expertise with the Microsoft Suite of products.
4. Experience with Human Resources processes and procedures required.
5. Strong customer service orientation and experience with meeting both quick and long-range deadlines and managing multiple assignments within required timeframes.
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.
7. Logical and critical thinking skills necessary to learn existing processes and modify or re-create them to improve efficiencies.
8. Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively support HR and AMA staff.
9. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and work with confidential information.
10. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team setting, as well as independently.
