Summary of Position: Perform Human Resources-related activities, including but not limited to the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, greet visitors
  • Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean applications in company operations, including maintaining the lobby, mailroom and workspace to 5S standards
  • Assist with a variety of employee relations events as needed
  • Assist with maintenance and distribution of HR communications as well as communication boards
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation activities
  • Assist with planning and coordinating HR and company events and programs
  • Collaborate with HR team members to handle employee relations counseling, investigations and support to managers and supervisors; retention and exit interviews
  • Complete all employee outside financial requests (home loans, etc.)
  • Complete/Coordinate handbook sign offs and salaried vacation logs
  • Completion of headcount reporting for Finance
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and orientation process for new hires
  • Create and maintain personnel, benefit and payroll files for employees per legal requirements
  • Distribution of daily USPS
  • Efficiently create and process reports from HRIS databases
  • Enter data and maintains HRIS records to ensure tup to date and accurate information
  • Input new hire data in database and process new hire files and timecards
  • Maintain and manage the uniform program for the production team, including ordering and distribution as appropriate
  • Perform special assignment and projects as needed
  • Provide administrative support on a variety of HR and company activities (surveys, meetings, charitable events, etc.) as needed
  • Provide support to production recruiting activities - including candidate screening and background verification processing
  • Review and process requests for information for unemployment claims
  • System Administration of Employee name badges
  • Verification of employment inquiries via the work number
  • Verification of I-9's and E-Verify
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • BA degree or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and/or SHRM-CP
  • Minimum 2-year Human Resources experience

Required Skills:

  • A "self-starter" requiring minimal supervision and guidance
  • Ability to work hours that support all shifts
  • Computer proficiency - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and experience using similar computer applications (payroll, timekeeping, applicant tracking)
  • Energetic and responsible with the ability to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Excellent customer service, listening, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with Workday and Kronos is preferred
  • Knowledge of current employment practices and regulations required
  • Must have a strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be a team player who enjoys helping others.
  • Prior payroll experience a plus. Must have excellent math and problem solving skills
  • Professional and confidential in work habits
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to other nearby facilities to provide support

Work Environment:

Usual office working conditions with occasional (5%) exposure to the production environment (heat, operating machinery and noise). Position involves limited travel. Limited physical exertion required.
