The HR Coordinator is an entry-level position that supports various areas in the HR Department such as benefits, compensation, payroll, recruiting, and the HR technology team. This position works in the Indianapolis corporate office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

  • Intermediate skills with Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel (Experience with VLOOKUP, pivot tables, IF statements, etc.)
  • Strong written communication
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong discretion. (Exposure to sensitive data: compensation, payroll, and benefits.)

Position Details:

  • Answers phone calls and voicemail messages from current and former JD Finish Line employees.
  • Responds to emails/cases from current and former JD Finish Line employees regarding benefit coverage, life changing events (benefits), pay issues, recruiting issues.
  • Supports JD Finish Line stores with Workday issues involving recruiting, hiring, and promotions.
  • Reviews candidate rehire eligibility in Workday.
  • Compiles monthly and quarterly statistics regarding interactions and job responsibilities.
  • Updates Workday passwords and work email information in Workday when requested.
  • Runs and reviews a variety of audit reports in Workday regarding hiring, benefits, and payroll.
  • Completes employment verification requests.
  • Kicks off promotional background check requests and monitors background check status.
  • Tracks requests, distributes tickets and pays invoices for perks offered by the company.
  • Supports the benefits team during open enrollment.
  • Requests dependent verification documents from new hires and during open enrollment
  • Assists with life changing events that impact current benefit elections.
  • Handles incoming physical mail and distributes forms to appropriate departments.
  • Processes invoices from benefit vendors and other third party vendors.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • We are seeking an individual with one to two years of customer service experience with a general interest in Human Resources.
  • Customer service experience in a call center or a retail environment is preferred.
