HR - Employee Relations Manager

In this role, you will be:
Responsible for providing guidance and recommendations regarding the resolution of associate relations matters including performance improvement, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, investigations, compliance, and sensitive employment decisions.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Advises and consults with leaders and associates on a broad range of associate relations issues including coaching, conflict resolution, internal investigations, corrective action, terminations, and other highly confidential matters
- Thoroughly documents investigation plans, interviews, summaries and recommendations in a timely, high-quality manner
- Tailors and delivers communications in an effective, measured way to help influence the right outcomes with stakeholders as well as mitigate risks to the company
- Proactively identifies trends, opportunities, challenges, and solutions to help drive operational and organizational excellence
- Builds strong partnerships and collaborates with the broader HR team as well as other areas such as Legal, Fraud, Compliance and Security
- Ensures the consistent and effective application of HR Policies, practices and programs and compliance with FMLA/ADA, Title VII, and other federal and state employment laws
- Maintains a working knowledge of industry trends, federal and state employment legislation
- Ensures company compliance by updating and implementing company policies and procedures
- Develops and conducts compliance and training programs as necessary
- Reviews and provides recommendations on policies and procedures
- Ability to perform as a trusted advisor and to build partnerships at the management level
We are seeking:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality as well as exercise sound judgment
- Ability to provide an independent point of view on people and issues while having the courage and sensitivity to deliver tough messages to leaders and associates
- Proven success consulting, coaching, and influencing associates and leaders at all levels of the organization
- Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced, results driven environment
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws including but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and decision-making skills
- PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, SHRM SCP is ideal but not required
Required Work Experience
- 5+ years experience in handling Employee Relations in a multi-location environment
- Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Salary Band: 06B
This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
