What is the opportunity?

Work with a collaborative and high-performing team at RBC, one of Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's top places to work. The HR Employee Support Specialist will provide direction, expertise, and support to business units on a specific human resources function, such as compensation, benefits, employee relations, compliance, or recruiting. Additionally, this individual will apply basic theories, skills, and practices to accomplish assignments.

What will you do?

  • Process talent cycle related activities received from our employees and people managers into our new HR system, Workday and our Payroll system, SAP. This includes the processing of the following:

    • New Hires
    • Organizational Changes
    • Compensation updates
    • Job Changes - promotions, lateral moves
    • Terminations
    • Leave of Absences - initiating leaves and returning from leaves
  • Work closely with key partners to ensure service level agreements are met by transaction type
  • Fulfill processing requirements as established by team leads
  • Adapt/learn new processes and demonstrate flexibility if moved from one process to another
  • Escalate any technical gaps, processing issues, opportunities to better streamline processes
  • Demonstrate a client first focused by keeping the employee and people manager at the forefront
  • Remain committed to quality assurance - with minimal to zero errors

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 1+ years of experience in a HR or operational or administrative function
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence with excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  • Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving

Nice-to-have

  • Ability to handle issue resolution and escalation
  • Adaptable to changing requirements and environments quickly
  • Keen business acumen and organizational awareness
  • Knowledge of Contingent Workforce Management systems, such as Beeline
