Hiring rate/range: $60,000 – $70,000, with a variable incentive bonus at an annual target of up to 15% of base salary.
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, salaried role. Overtime may be needed on occasion to support business need.
Summary/Objective:
Travelers Haven is seeking a passionate HR Generalist who will play a critical role in supporting the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, reporting to the Manager of HR and Talent Acquisition. You will make an immediate impact by being responsible for new hire onboarding, processing position change requests, benefits administration, leave management, creating and enforcing company policies, and offboarding terminations. As an ideal candidate, you should have proven success in handling employee relations with care, while following best practices, employment law, and our company values as a guide.
The HR Generalist should be a strategic thinker that can anticipate trends to proactively seize opportunities for improvement and solve issues before they occur. It will be crucial to the role to effectively partner with executives and management to drive positive organizational change, while also being a trusted resource for all employees. Your success will be based on the ability to prioritize and accomplish HR initiatives, utilizing flexibility to shift gears as needed for the success of the HR team.
Responsibilities:
- Updates and maintains employee records, personnel/payroll data, and executes daily HR transactions with the utmost integrity and confidentiality.
- Works collaboratively with others to resolve concerns using judgment consistent with company culture, standards, practices, and regulations.
- Facilitates new hire orientation, continually working to improve the onboarding experience.
- Implements employee recognition and engagement programs to enhance employee morale.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Creating and implementing new HR processes/procedures that are compliant with Federal and state laws and regulations.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Assists with unemployment claims processing and documentation.
- In conjunction with Manager of HR, manages ADAÂ accommodation process and FMLA leave.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent training/ experience.
- 1+ year of current human resource experience required.
- SHRM-CP is a plus, but not required.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and G-suite and comfortable learning and utilizing new software programs.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or HRIS systems strongly preferred. Greenhouse experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong, professional communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with employees from all levels of the organization.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Ability to complete deliverables in a timely manner, being flexible to handle competing requests.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong planning, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
