Job Description Summary:

The Role

PayPal is seeking an experienced Intern to support projects and activities associated with the life cycle of the employee. Employee Central is a global organization focused on supporting employees and managers with their overall HR Operational needs. This role will support analysis, testing, reporting, audit, pending transactions/error handling, communication and coordination with our HR centers of excellence partners and the HR PMO. Duties also include support of training and implementation activities related to our Case/Knowledge management system implementation and other projects as needed. The role is also responsible for monitoring the support provided to PayPal employees and managers by the various stakeholders relative to established service level agreements (SLA's) and key performance indicators (KPI's.).

Success in this position will require the development of an internal network, both within and beyond the HR function and an ability to work well with and through others to effectively execute. The successful candidate will navigate easily between both strategic and hands-on items on the to-do list, serving not only as a thought partner to HR operational partners but also as a support resource for the program and project managers for critical business and operational initiatives.

Job Description:

Team / Project Management

  • HR SERVICE IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES can be complex and requires careful planning and execution. The Employee Central Intern is a fundamental part of the team composed by People Technology, Rewards Partners, HRBPs, Payroll, GTA, and Legal.

Vendor Management

  • Supports resolution of complex global issues escalated from our Tier 1 vendor CapGemini related to HR service delivery
  • Supports training of Tier 2 and Tier 1 support on processes and systems as required for existing staff and new hires
  • Monitors Tier 1 support provided to PayPal EEs and Managers to ensure we are meeting contracted KPIs

Collaboration and Business Partnership

  • Supports resolution of escalations for all OM, PM and employee data management
Key job responsibilities

  • Support PayPal HR team projects and initiatives of varying complexity, importance, and priority
  • The successful candidate will be adept at working cross functionally with the broader PayPal HR team, business leaders, HRBP's, COE's, vendors, and other key partners to ensure consistency and accuracy of employee data, adherence to designed processes and technology, and risk and compliance mitigation while anchoring to the idea of the customer being at the core of what we do and/or are solving for
  • Support ongoing projects and initiatives that are aligned to the broader goals and priorities of the HR Function intended to optimize HR processes and technology
  • Developing and maintaining process documentation
  • Configures, analyzes, and interprets reports and spreadsheets to build data files that require data manipulation and validation and can recognizes patterns and anomalies in data to spot potential data integrity issues in an effort mitigate data discrepancies and minimize redundant process steps through continuous improvements to processes and technology
  • Demonstrates peer leadership in establishing data integrity and auditing best practice through maintaining and creating process documents, training materials, and work instructions that ensure that data management methodologies deliver high quality data

Internship Program Information and Requirements:

  • This is a Summer 2023 Internship program. Spring and Fall 2023 internships are not available.
  • Must currently be pursuing Bachelor's in related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be returning to school in the Fall of 2023.
  • Must reside in the U.S. during the Summer internship program.
  • Must be able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S. for the summer.
