The HR internship is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for the intern, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge in various aspects of Human Resources. The intern will work closely with the HR Generalist and other POPs team members, gaining hands-on experience in employee communication and engagement, documentation, recruiting, and onboarding processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Employee Communication and Documentation
    • Assist the HR Generalist in daily communication with employees, addressing queries and providing necessary information or contacts in the Ask-People Ops Channel on Slack.
    • Assist in transitioning and organizing HR-related files from Google Drive to Notion. 
    • Help maintain and ensure proper documentation of HR-related activities and information on Notion.
    • Support the preparation and distribution of HR communications, such as newsletters, announcements, and updates via email or Slack.
  • Recruitment Support
    • Collaborate with Senior Technical Recruiter to assist in the hiring process for associate-level roles.
    • Collaborate with the recruiting team to assist in screening internal applicants.
    • Conducting resume screening, initial phone screens, interview setup, and coordinating with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Onboarding Process
    • Assist onboarding team with the development of a “New Hire Welcome Packet”.
    • Assist in facilitating new hire orientation sessions and help new employees integrate into the company culture.
  • HR Projects and Initiatives
    • Participate in various HR projects and initiatives, gaining exposure to different aspects of HR operations.
    • Conduct research on HR best practices and contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain practical experience in various HR functions and understand the role of HR in an organization.
  • Develop communication and interpersonal skills through direct interaction with employees and candidates.
  • Learn about recruitment processes, onboarding procedures, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Understand the importance of compliance and documentation in HR practices.
  • Enhance organizational and project management skills through involvement in HR projects and initiatives.

Supervision & Evaluation:

  • The intern will report directly to the HR Generalist and receive regular guidance and feedback.
  • Performance will be evaluated based on the completion of assigned tasks, the ability to learn and apply new skills, and overall contribution to the HR team.
  • Periodic check-ins and a final evaluation meeting will be conducted to assess progress and provide developmental feedback.

Pay Rate & Hours Worked:

  • Pay rate: 18/hr
  • Hours- 24-30 per week
