The Human Resources Manager will lead a team of HR Business Partners in their defined plant job responsibilities and work closely with the plant staff as a member of the plant leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HR Manager supporting the Seward plant in all areas of HR daily activities
  • Drive yearly engagement survey and action planning practices

for facility.

  • Ensure department is responsive to resolving employee issues

and concerns.

  • Oversee customer group (plant departments) performance management practices.
  • Oversee customer group (plant departments) talent review practices
  • Ensure adherence to corporate EEO/AAP policies.
  • Act as a liaison between the plant staff for coaching, consulting, training and

Assist as recruiting partners

  • Champion company culture and management practices within

the Seward location.

  • Create location reports as required, help identify

proper metrics and process to track them

  • Modify and improve the new-hire orientation program for the plant
  • Modify and improve the offboarding program for the plant
  • Provide company contact for contracted services.
  • Perform all other incidental and related duties as required and

assigned.

  • Review, compile and analyze salaried compensation for Seward personnel
  • Work closely with AMER CA HR team in strategic talent reviews,

succession planning, and performance planning for Seward personnel.

  • Manages a department by developing and maintaining budgets,

setting goals and objectives, determining actions required to

meet goals, determining personnel needs and acting to meet

those needs, and appraising the performance of the department

and employees

  • Strategic Partner - understanding and involvement in business

issues, participation in HR task forces, provide program

management of workforce planning, skills assessment,

succession planning, learning and development, champion of

company culture and management practices.

  • Employee Champion - champion employee communication programs that provide employees open, candid and frequent

information-sharing with management, develop employee

involvement systems, develop self direction teams, ensure work

environment provides opportunity for celebration and openness.

  • Provide due process to associates to deal with differences and

development of employee skills,

  • Change Agent - act as liaison for leading change, create

understanding among associates about the need to change, and

how change will help them and the business in the short and long

term, assist in the modification of systems and structures to

support needed change, monitor progress by developing

measures for change and develop long and short term plans to

keep attention focused on change.

Required Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in relevant in field.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of HR related laws, including, but not limited to,

FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title 7, Age Discrimination Act, and state law

statutes.

  • 3-5 years in Human Resource Management.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills,

ability to establish a rapport with others.

  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail.
  • Ability to conceptualize processes to see the "big picture".
