Responsibilities:

  • Partner with hiring managers to attract, screen, select, and retain qualified individuals who are passionate about our purpose and the contribution they can make.
  • Drive employee engagement through effective communication, conflict management, and resolution, and serve as a cultural advocate in our work environment.
  • Develop and communicate HR policies and practices that align with our company culture and the needs of a growing company. Ensure compliance with HR regulations by reviewing and revising the employee handbook to incorporate any updated processes and recent labor laws.
  • Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner biweekly through the Certipay system.
  • Collaborate with managers to create and drive training and development programs aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of both new and existing employees.
  • Support, counsel, and strategize with managers on employee and/or performance issues to help ensure actions are appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations while maintaining accurate HR records, including employee relations issues, personnel files, and I-9s.
  • Administer benefits programs that promote employee well-being and reinforce our commitment to health.
  • Collaborate on special HR projects that drive innovation and positive change within the organization. HR projects may include but are not limited to employee recognition programs, online networking events, revised onboarding processes tailored to specific departments, marketing campaigns to attract talent, and wellness programs.
  • Establish and communicate clear detailed goals and performance expectations to implement a new performance management program that increases the company’s efficiency and fuels the employee’s professional growth.
  • Collaborate with brokers as necessary to address workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and any other related cases.
  • Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner biweekly through the Certipay system.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll and benefit matters promptly.
  • Set up garnishments and all payments with the highest level of confidentiality.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must have at least four years of HR experience.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Payroll and Human Resources disciplines, regulations, and practices required.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of operations.
  • Must be tech-savvy, with experience using HRIS systems and other relevant HR tools.
  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must have a proactive and innovative mindset, always seeking new ways to improve employee experiences by collecting and analyzing data to make informed decisions.
  • Must have the ability to research varied topics using multiple information channels.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an HR Department of one.
  • A bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience), a master's degree, or professional certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience using JazzHR, Certipay, E-Verify, Sling, Toast, and Employee Navigator.
