What You Will Contribute:

This position partners closely with our US leaders to drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement with an emphasis on enabling Badger Meter leaders to build, lead, and develop a diverse, high performing team. This role will execute on established engagement, performance management, and talent development initiatives, utilizing effective human resources business partnerships to do so. This role is responsible for ensuring HR operational processes, programs and compliance are executed effectively across the business for all established and acquired business units.

Essential Job Duties:

HR Operational Execution

  • Proactively works with US Managers to understand people related business issues as well as identify and implement solutions to attract, engage, and retain talent. (Right People|Right Place|Right Time)
  • Provides employee relations guidance and coaching to leaders and employees, to include professional development, performance, investigations and disciplinary action and terminations.
  • Responsible, along with HR Business Partner, for managing organizational changes within Workday including job creation, structure changes and location/cost center updates.
  • Owns the execution of day to day HR operational processes, procedures and compliance to ensure consistency across the US for HR operational activities.
  • Drives effective operational execution of the performance management and merit increase process, restructuring and other processes in coordination with Talent Development and Total Rewards teams.
  • Drives employee engagement, using survey results to target improvement areas as well as implementing corporate wide engagement initiatives developed by Talent Development team.
  • Executes workforce planning processes that assist managers with staffing requirements, organizational alignment and forecasting of talent needs.
  • Takes the lead on US integrations from an HR operational standpoint, assisting with due diligence and driving BMI culture and HR program adoption and deployment.
  • Partners with leaders and HR/Total Rewards to ensure compensation of team members is appropriate. Ensures all job descriptions are current.
  • Provides support where needed to hiring managers and talent acquisition to ensure high service levels and quality of candidates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five or more years related experience in a Human Resources Generalist, Business Partner or HR Manager role
  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Organizational Development or a related field
  • Ideal candidates will have PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP
  • Previous experience using an HRIS; Workday preferred
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Cross functional collaboration
  • Managerial Courage; Ability to drive difficult conversations to resolution
  • Critical thinking; diverging multiple viewpoints into effective plans and approaches
  • Organizational agility - able to establish productive relationships across, up and down the organization.
  • Strong Project Management Skills
