About The Role

Summary

The Human Resources Manager will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department
  • Assist managers in recruiting activities to fill open positions
  • Provide counsel to executives, managers and employees on human resources issues and policies with the intent of enhancing employee relations and maximizing company productivity, as well as reducing exposure to legal liabilities
  • Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Assist managers with compensation and incentive/commission questions and provide guidelines and resources to ensure compliance with their related plans
  • Support employees with all benefit needs and provide resources
  • Ensure company compliance with FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA and other federal, state, and local laws
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system
  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
  • Performs other duties as required

About You

Education and Experience

  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school required; Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources Management experience required
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
  • At least 2 years of banking experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
