We are looking for a Human Resources Manager for our Plymouth, MI Technical Center. The Human Resource Manager for Tenneco is responsible for ensuring that we maintain the highest levels of service to our internal customers, as well as our adherence with various policies, employment laws and ethical behaviors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the Human Resource (HR) management activities within the Powertrain Plymouth/Ann Arbor Technical Centers, to maximize the strategic use of human resources.
- Ensure the organization is embracing engagement activities such as recruitment, talent development and deployment, performance appraisal, regulatory compliance, and employee relations.
- Act as a business partner with Senior Management providing support in all aspects of human resources. This includes but is not limited to staffing/talent acquisition, diversity, training and development, succession planning, performance management, compensation and benefits, change management, and employee relations.
- Partner with HR Director to assist with the plant facilities to lead the immigration visa administration for Powertrain locations in the United States and management of external immigration vendor.
- Supervise human resource team in Plymouth, MI.
- Must have the ability to drive initiatives and policies while being a champion for consistency throughout the organization.
- Must be able to build teams and be a strategic partner.
- Must demonstrate excellent multi-tasking abilities (juggling of multiple projects), organizational, strong communication and listening skills.
- This position will be responsible for coaching and mentoring employees and leaders.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. PHR, SPHR preferred but not required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in Human Resources with demonstrated career growth.
- Experience working in a corporate function and/or manufacturing division required.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with employees at all levels of the Company.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills including all Microsoft Office components with a focus on Excel.
