Position Summary

Exhibit a high level of expertise in the application, compliance, administration and communications of assigned benefit plans and programs, such as health plans, long-term and short-term disability plans, and other HR services. Provide project work guidance to HR Operations staff. Maintain records and prepare documents necessary for implementing and monitoring HR data and services. Take independent action as necessary to solve employee issues within the confines of plan and company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as a two-tier analyst for seamless delivery of HR services to employees and managers; determine and refer appropriate inquiries to other HR professionals as needed for resolution in a timely manner; serve as an employee advocate with vendors to ensure prompt resolution of employee benefit issues; provide employee benefit plan information; and work with outsourced provider to resolve employee issues/questions in a timely manner.
  • Lead projects or participate on project teams involving the administration of health and wellness benefits, such as annual benefits enrollment, new plan implementations, mergers and acquisitions, and system upgrades.
  • Works with vendors to establish file layouts, deadlines and timing around health & wellness updates. When changes occur to file, coordinates enhancements with IT, vendor and other HR partners. Responsible for vendor file reconciliations and record maintenance. Maintain in-depth knowledge of vendor group code structures and ensure the integrity of the group codes within the HR system and at the vendors.
  • Coordinate, document, prioritize and submit systems' service requests and programming changes in a cost effective manner. Review automated processes and implement necessary process improvements.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and year-end processing for leave plans administered through HR systems.
  • Provide day-to-day work and project guidance to HR Benefit Operations staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively-responsible benefits or related experience;
  • Familiarity of HR systems, trends and practices; planning, time management and organizational skills; ability to make sound judgments on data and provide guidance on priorities and technical implementation; and proven interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization.
  • A Bachelor or Associates degree in a business-related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Professional benefits certification from a recognized professional or educational organization is preferred.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $60,000.00 to $85,332.33 per year
