Director of Human Resources NVH
The holder of this position will be responsible for leading the business unit through a Company-wide transformation to become a world-class Human Resources function through the deployment of key HR initiatives ranging from tactical business process, world-class business partnership and key talent management initiatives.
The Director of Human Resources NVH must demonstrate strong leadership skills with experience developing individuals within large-scale, highly matrixed organizations. He/she should have the capability to create a results-oriented team culture that motivates and retains employees and demands high-level performance. The successful candidate must possess the experience and capability to build trust, reputation, process discipline and a strong talent bench.
The ideal candidate will bring aspirations and personal growth potential beyond this role.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
- Proven global human resources experience in businesses of at least $500M in revenue
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated and deep experience managing in a highly-complex and matrixed global organization. He/She will have a bias for action and urgency to ensure that critical business needs are executed. The holder of this position must also be a strong voice amongst the team and possess the keen ability to influence others.
- Exceptional change management skills
- The ideal candidate will have experience driving successful organizational changes in a fast-paced, global environment with a hands-on, results-oriented leadership style. Experience leading organizations through change along with a passion for process design and deployment will be a key competency. This executive will likely have a background in manufacturing and/or automotive roles.
- Demonstrated experience in U.S. and Mexico Labor Relations
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong background and deep understanding of US and MX labor relations, compliance and labor strategy including experience managing complex union negotiations.
- Talent Management and Succession Planning
- The successful candidate will have experience and a passion for acquiring, developing, and advancing talent throughout the organization. He/She will help Tenneco become an employer of choice for the best talent to join and progress in their careers.
- Global Perspective and Operations Excellence
- This HRD will have had global human resources responsibility with great depth in manufacturing operations enablement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver day-to-day and strategic human resources leadership of the global NVH business.
- Successfully deploy Tenneco HR initiatives throughout the business.
- Deploy strategy to identify, develop, and retain High-Potential employees.
- Develop a high-performance team with a strong talent management focus .
- Proactively manage employee and labor relations to ensure a stabilized social environment.
- Partner with the business leaders to develop and deploy strategic growth initiatives.
- Support the development and implementation of the NVH business strategy in conjunction with the VP/GM of NVH.
- Anticipate and react swiftly to changing labor market conditions that affect global operations.
- Develop human capital strategies to align with global footprint changes.
- Manage the relevant network of internal and external relationships.
- Continually assess and drive process improvements.
- Lead activities related to EH&S to develop a strong and visible safety culture- above all else.
- Drive global organizational effectiveness, process, and maturity in the spirit of operational and people excellence.
- Focus on attracting and developing top talent in regional leadership and other key positions.
- Build a culture that rewards performance and results and is a strong developer of talent for the broader organization.
- Foster a culture of innovation and change management.
- Further develop human resources capability across the operations with priority on Plant Manager and first line talent.
