As the HR Operations Specialist, you will apply your Human Resources expertise and technological skills to support a variety of HR initiatives and services across HR. You will administer associate life cycle changes including hiring, terminations, and job changes. You’ll facilitate leave administration, collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate pay and benefits, and serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries from associates, retirees, and external candidates.

What You’ll Do

  • Administers completion of associate life cycle activities including, hire, termination, job changes, benefits, time adjustments and pay.
  • Partners with HR functional areas to complete operational tasks including candidate drug tests, background checks, new hire tours and I-9 forms, and benefits enrollment.
  • Facilitates leave administration tasks from employees’ initial notice of leave through return to work. Verifies eligibility, ensures timely receipt of documents, and monitoring leave time ensuring associates are paid accurately.
  • Oversees retention of employment documents and partners with Sentry’s legal department to produce records as required.
  • Centralized point of contact for intake, research and resolution of associate, dependent, manager and retiree inquiries requests.
  • Escalates complex inquiries to other functional areas as necessary.

What it Takes

To be eligible for this career-launching opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • 1 year of related work experience
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience in administering employment data, benefit and compensation data within an HCM is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in an administrative role strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong knowledge of HR Operations, processes and procedures
  • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide accurate and reliable data
  • Knowledge of employment policies, practices and benefits
