Position Title:  HR Operations Specialist II

Location:  Menlo Park (this role will be onsite regularly)

About Us

At Hexagon Bio we are leveraging our proprietary genomics-based platform and understanding of natural product evolution to develop the next generation of medicines for human disease. Our interdisciplinary platform uses data science, genomics, synthetic biology, chemistry and automation to discover potent, evolutionarily refined small molecules and their cognate targets directly from fungal genomes. 

This is a great opportunity to join our growing team (70+ employees) as an HR Operations Specialist and have the opportunity to build many of our people processes and analytics to prepare the organization for our next phase of growth.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as first point-of-contact for general HR questions;  
  • Provide end to end support for full employee lifecycle experience from onboarding to offboarding.  
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop a new hire orientation program.  Provide data related to orientation and onboarding and continuously look for opportunities to improve and provide a welcoming and supportive environment for new hires.
  • Provide HR changes/data to payroll for processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for 70+ employees; Provide new hire information for key stakeholders.
  • Assist managers with getting open roles posted to Applicant Tracking System and external recruiting sites as needed; maintain roles in Applicant Tracking System
  • Assist in implementation of new processes and systems including Employee Handbook, HRIS, talent management.
  • Ensure data integrity of HRIS and prepare HR reports as needed; 
  • Assist with regular HR reporting including quarterly Board of Director organizational charts, census, recruitment, new hire and attrition reporting
  • Ensure HR files and records are maintained in accordance with federal and state legal and compliance requirements. Ensures all locations are in compliance with federal, state, and local employment postings.
  • Support Talent Management processes such as goal setting, mid-year, 360 process and annual appraisals. Deliver process/system-related training to employees and assist with day-to-day questions.
  • Work with managers and external counsel/vendors on immigration, work authorization, and relocation casework  
  • Handle sensitive data with discretion, and maintain strict confidentiality of all corporate, staff, and HR matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other teams, internal and external stakeholders, and vendors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; 2 - 4 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Firm understanding of HR practices employee confidentiality; can maintain a high degree of confidentiality when handling all personnel data; demonstrate a high level of professionalism and judgment when working with sensitive employee information
  • Thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Exposure to HRIS, ATS or other HR Operations systems
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently within a team environment and with a diverse group of people
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively work, communicate, and interact with diverse groups of people
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications 

Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time position is $80,000-$110,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across California locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
