HR Payroll Administrator
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Performs multi-state payroll and tax functions on a bi-weekly and semi-monthly basis
- Accurately enter child support orders, garnishments, and tax levies
- Maintains payroll inputs for reimbursements or deductions that effect payroll
- Review and audit time entry and absence requests for completion and accuracy
- Process jury duty pay
- Report on unemployment compensation and employment verifications as necessary
- Processes accurate and timely year-end reporting (W2, other system updates, etc.)
- Organizes annual set-up of payroll processing schedules
- Answer employee questions and enforce policies related to payroll and time entry
- Keeps current with all payroll related compliance matters and updated laws and regulations
- Collaborates with other HR members on tasks and projects as needed
- Partner with other departments to ensure employee profiles are up to date across systems
- Assist employees with direct deposit and tax withholding updates
- Support Benefits Administration with updates to payroll records, employee information or benefits
- Assist with benefit deduction reconciliation
- Generate periodic/monthly payroll reports for finance, and create new reports as needed
- Assist with audit processes and accounting reconciliations
- Learn all aspects of payroll settlement, and be able to back up in times of need
- Other daily tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years payroll processing and tax filing experience required
- Understanding of general ledger entries
- Federal and state payroll/tax knowledge preferred
- Workday Payroll experience preferred
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Personal Attributes: Attention to Detail, Integrity, Efficiency, Commitment / Dependability, Planning and Organization
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Using hands, talking, hearing
