HR COMPLIANCE RISK CONSULTANT
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Human Resources (HR) Compliance Risk Consultant will support the governance of compliance risk programs on behalf of HR. This includes creating/maintaining HR Risk Business Level Procedures and managing associated compliance/conduct requirements, controls, monitoring and reporting. This role will assist the HR functions and Leaders to map out, document, and identify compliance risks and help develop compliance risk mitigating strategies across the departments. The Consultant will develop a quality assurance framework for HR and working on the remediation of any open findings while assisting the SVP of HR Compliance in building controls to mitigating the risks within Human Resources. The candidate must have strong technical writing skills, a background in all areas of Human Resources in order to assess the impact that changes in laws or regulations have on the department. Banking Operations experience is a plus.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Possess a broad and comprehensive understanding of multiple HR disciplines and of various policies and standards, as well as areas of high-risk: conduct risk, project/program management, or third-party management.
- Collaborate and consult with members of the Human Resources, Legal and Compliance to develop and drive a compliance risk framework that assesses operational risk and regulatory controls across people and processes. This includes validating control design and operating effectiveness and tracking remediation actions. Coordinate and collaborate with issue owners in HR to ensure proper and timely closure of any findings.
- Manage the development and execution of procedures intended to identify emerging risks / trends associated with HR and proactively develop and socialize preparation strategies with management to enhance the control environment and ensure HR is equipped to manage future risk.
- Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional areas, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans.
- Develop and maintain process maps, procedures, documented risks, and control workflows for all Human Resources functional and operational areas. Ensure that regulatory controls workflows are governed by established policies, clearly defined processes, and suitable escalation channels.
- Create documentation, user manuals, and other technical content that converts complex technical information to a non-technical language.
- Assess employee adherence to control requirements and escalated problematic cases.
- Prepare reoccurring reports for internal and external stakeholders of control outputs as well as any identified breaches and associated remediation actions.
- Under the leadership of the SVP of Strategic Operations, maintain relationships and ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
- Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Communications or related field Or
- Equivalent education, training and work related experience
- 7+ years of financial services/banking experience
- 7+ years of experience with operational risk, audit or regulatory compliance ideally in Human Resources.
Skills and Knowledge
- Business execution or implementation experience preferred.
- Certified Internal Auditor or similar certification is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in Compliance and/or Risk Management or Internal Audit with specific subject matter expertise and a strong business understanding of risks, controls, and issues. Human Resources experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
- Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
- Experience with risk and compliance in Human Resources.
- Advanced Microsoft Visio & Excel skills, and SharePoint Site development and management experience.
- Program or Project Management preferred.
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
Compensation
Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
