HR Principal Business Systems Analyst - Workday (Remote)

A Brief Overview
As a HR Business Systems Analyst in Human Resources, you will join a newly created HR systems and product management team that utilizes their experience and understanding of HR and industry trends to champion HR solutions, products, and technologies. An excellent candidate for this role is naturally curious, very analytical, and thorough, has a background in HR systems, and loves to solve problems. The role will perform a variety of routine and complex duties to maintain timely, accurate HR system data. Supports functional areas with Workday by leading business requirement gathering, business process optimization, user testing, maintains user documentation and supports business process configurations.
Advanced (Level 3) Principal Analyst:
Recognized organization-wide expert. Has significant impact and influence on organizational policy and program development. Regularly leads projects of critical importance to the organization; these projects carry substantial consequences of success or failure. Directs programs with organization-wide impact (or may have impact beyond the hospital) that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes and resources. Significant barriers to entry exist at this level. Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.
What you will do
- Demonstrating knowledge and experience with Workday HCM and HR processes, including HCM, Payroll, Timekeeping, Benefits, Compensation, and Talent.
- Driving effective outcomes by aligning business goals with HR technology/Workday capabilities.
- Partner with business owners and users to understand and refine business requirements. Determines related impact analyses.
- Translate business requirements into documented use cases, refining and maintaining the product feature/enhancements prioritization and tracking, and serving as the liaison between business teams and IT team. Ability to be problem solve and propose multiple solutions for business requirements within Workday
- Assist in the review, testing and implementation of system upgrades and patches.
- Configure the Workday solution in collaboration with IT team, demonstrate the configurations through the development of testing systems. Lead and execute user acceptance testing for feature and functional delivery.
- Assessing new features available, making recommendations, and driving new feature adoption.
- Support ongoing process improvement activities to bring greater efficiency to Workday processes. Recommends customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.
- Developing and updating job aids and imparting information through a train-the-trainer approach.
- Assists in developing user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
- Engaging in regular audits of Workday data with a focus on data quality and completeness
- Prepares files and loads data while ensuring accuracy.
- Manage and resolve case escalations within SLA, providing high quality and accurate solutions
- Provides HR Tier 2 support for Workday including researching and trouble-shooting unexpected results or process flaws; performs scheduled activities.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
Experience Qualifications
- Eight (8) years with Workday or equivalent HR information system.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong functional knowledge of HR processes and technology. Thorough knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and operations.
- Workday or similar human resources information systems experience required. Workday experience preferred in 2 of the following areas: Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Talent and HCM - dependent upon functional area supporting.
- Experience gathering and conveying business requirements to a technology team.
- Excellent analytical skills, thorough, and detail oriented.
- Effective oral and written communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills. Exceptional people skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both a technical audience and business users.
- Problem-solving and process improvement skills to deliver recommendations to stakeholders.
- Critical thinking and evaluation skills required to troubleshoot issues and anticipate potential issues before they occur or escalate
- Must be well organized and have the ability to manage multiple priorities while effectively managing time and working within deadlines
- Operate with discretion and discernment when working with highly sensitive data
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel
- Ability to use a consultative approach with HR peers and stakeholders; displays business acumen to understand business challenges and recommend solutions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents and information required.
- Project management skills.
