Job Overview
We have a newly created opportunity for a HR Program manager to join our North American HR Team. This is a hybrid position, minimum of two day per week are working onsite in our Milwaukee, WI office for team meetings, collaboration, project work and up to three days per week can be telecommuting from your home office.
The human resources program manager is an individual contributor role that will ensure that the human resources program and related activities supports the long-term strategy and goals of the department. This position oversees a broad range of functions, policies, and procedures within the HR scope and will have to indirectly manage and influence various teams, departments, and/or functions in order to successfully complete work.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborates with legal, payroll, benefits, HRIS and others as needed to define and revise employee job classifications and the various impacts (benefits eligibility, etc.). Works with HRIS and HR ops to implement and maintain proper job classification. Communicates changes to local HR.
- Manages and supports all employment immigration related activities for all US locations. Serves as a SME for the HR team regarding employment immigration. Partners with external legal counsel when needed.
- Serves as HR lead for global assignments and relocations. Assists with coordinating activities related to immigration, relocation support, system changes, etc.
- Supports merger, acquisition, and divestiture related activities and projects
- Serves as project manager for HR related projects and/or serves as the HR team member for larger company wide projects
- Leads a project team responsible for HR policy development and deployment.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for the US HR team on new, pending, and current employment related laws. Recommends new policies and procedures to comply with new and pending legislation and regulations. Communicates changes to the HR team.
- Collaborates with compensation, benefits and legal on US severance plans/packages. Serves as a subject matter expert for the US HR team. Reviews and assists with the administration of the severance plan.
- Owns labor law poster compliance for all US locations
- Researches, analyzes data, and prepares reports on HR trends, new HR project suggestions and current program goals and progress.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a database of standardized common HR forms, tools and templates (i.e. offer letters, tracking sheets, promotions letters, etc.)
- Assists finance, HR ops and others with headcount management and reporting.
- Serves as subject matter expert for US unemployment proceedings. Owns and fosters the relationship with Komatsu's unemployment vendor. Assists location HR with unemployment matters as needed.
- Owns and maintains a job description database for North America position descriptions
- Researches and makes a recommendation for electronic employee files
- Serve as a project lead for labor relations / collective bargaining management. Collaborates with SMEs to standardize tools, templates, processes, etc.
- Assists with other projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience; previous experience working with employment immigration is strongly preferred
- HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) strongly preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resources related laws, regulations, and legislation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize and execute projects
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to research and come to a conclusion
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite
- Proficient with HRIS systems
- Ability to compose and present reports, data, recommendations, etc.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
