Arena Investors, LP ("Arena") is a global investment management firm that seeks to generate attractive risk adjusted, consistent and uncorrelated returns by employing a fundamentals based, asset-oriented financing and investing strategy across the entire credit spectrum in areas where conventional sources of capital are scarce. Arena specializes in off-the-run, stressed, distressed, illiquid and esoteric special situation transactions through originations and acquisitions of asset-oriented investments across a wide array of asset types (including but not limited to private direct corporate credit, commercial real estate bridge lending, and commercial and consumer assets).

Quaestor Advisors, LLC ("Quaestor") is an affiliated Special Servicer, which provides mid and back office services, including asset management, to Arena Investors and external clients.

Quaestor Advisors, an affiliated servicing company for Arena Investors, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Accountant to join its Human Resources and Administration team. This individual will assist with payroll globally for the firm's Investment Advisor, Management Company, and General Partner entities including oversight of financial records, coordination with auditors, and management reporting. The role also involves key projects that will include data analytics, budgeting/forecasting, building/maintaining databases and reports, and other ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide data analysis and research for payroll, recruiting, policies and procedures, compliance, audit responses, office management and other tasks.
  • Timely review and initiate account funding for the biweekly and monthly payroll transactions
  • Coordinate payroll tax payment with the finance team
  • Support the team during annual salary and bonus review process
  • Assist with the preparation of payroll related letters
  • Use internal HR systems to run analytics to enhance process and practices
  • Research market comparables and salary trends
  • Document and enhance process through automated solutions and controls
  • Manage deferred compensation plans and other required schedules and compensation items

Requirements
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Advanced excel required
  • Accounting experience working in a payroll function a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of international wage laws, and federal & state tax regulations
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize, adapt to changing priorities and multitask
  • High degree of dedication to improvement and strong sense of ownership
  • Strong attention to detail; must be thorough in notes and record keeping
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Reliable and punctual
