A Brief Overview

The HR Project Manager coordinates and manages projects for the HR function, tracking and reporting on project performance to the Strategic Portfolio Management Office Manager and HR Leadership Team. The role will vary depending on scope and number of HR projects; it may require the HR Project Manager to be closely involved in managing a small number of projects, actively supporting one large project, or providing oversight to a number of projects. This role provides subject matter expertise and leads the creation of standardized tools and methodologies for program and project management. This role will also entail a high degree of coordination with Change Management Lead and Communications Lead to ensure synchronized landing of projects to minimize disruption to both HR and the business.

What you will do

  • Implements project management processes and tools for the HR function (e.g., escalations, status reports, project charters)
  • Actively supports project resources to ensure that project charters align with HR and business strategic objectives
  • Acts as coordination body for escalation of project status/issues to the Strategic Portfolio Management Officer Manager and HR Leadership Team
  • Conducts project management activities such as status tracking, budget management, and resource management
  • Actively facilitates discussion with HR process owners and project leads to draw out risks and interdependencies to document in weekly status reports, then facilitates identification of mitigation plans
  • Supports the project intake process by working with project SMEs to develop project charters, including determination of budget, timeline, and resource needs to ensure proper prioritization of new projects / initiatives
  • Tracks, manages, and reports out on the HR project budget (spend to date, what's remaining, etc.)
  • Coordinates with Change and Communications resources to ensure coordinated landing of projects to minimize disruption
  • Trains HR resources playing a project management role for smaller projects outside of the Project Manager role scope
  • Proactively shares knowledge and expertise to help others to develop and grow

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Combination of experience and education will be considered

Experience Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of Project Management as demonstrated through 1-2 years of focused project management experience
  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team and hold others accountable to project deadlines
  • Financial management, budget control and reporting expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee multiple HR project teams concurrently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to track performance metrics to monitor performance outcomes for project teams
  • Strong computer, communication, and presentation skills, including Excel and relevant PPM software
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive SHC / customer information

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $46.36 - $60.27 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
