About the Role
The HR Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting employees and leaders across Contessa's corporate office and its Joint Venture partners. The day-to-day work of this role will support all stages of the employee lifecycle, including but not limited to, recruitment, employee onboarding, learning and development, performance management, HRIS management, vendor communications, and culture initiatives. The HR Specialist is driven by data, organized, and passionate about continually improving processes and the overall employee experience. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt as new priorities come up. Outstanding communication and time management skills are critical for this role. This role will have exposure to all facets HR in which will provide meaningful impact to our employees' work lives.

Primary Responsibilities
• Support the entire talent acquisition function through job description creation, job posting, candidate sourcing, recruitment, and job offers.
• Develop and adhere to best practices for new hire preboarding including background checks, drug screenings, market specific new hire policies, scheduling, and maintaining new hire checklists.
• Act as the PM for the onboarding process. This includes administrative, facilitation and logistical management between hiring manager, IT, and candidates.
• Support managers on new employee onboarding activities with a focus on employee integration plans within the first 90 days of hire.
• Maintain employee files and data to ensure proper record keeping and compliance with state laws in HRIS.
• Collects and compiles HR data from a variety of sources including the recruitment, human resource, and payroll systems.
• Prepares reports and dashboards containing HR data results; serve as a Paylocity administrator for the Recruiting, Data Insights, and onboarding portals.
• Actively involved in employee engagement with focus on retention, morale, employee ownership and attracting talent.
• Assist the HRVP in providing support for employees and managers on all people-related activities, from attraction to separation.
• Oversee office management for Nashville corporate office along with coordination of office supplies for Joint Venture partners.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 3 + years of work experience in a professional environment, preferably in HR, Education or applicable field partnering with various internal stakeholders
• Willingness to learn, adapt to change, and take on additional duties and tasks
• Proactive, client service mentality with approachable style
• Highly organized, great at prioritizing and following up
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
• Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
• Passion for collaborating with others, working on projects from start to finish, and flagging inefficiencies
• Project management skill in defining objectives, making assignments, delegating to others, tracking progress, meeting deadlines, along with the ability to readjust priorities as situations change
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as strong skills utilizing social media platforms
• Strong technical skills - experienced with web-based programs and software databases in terms of demonstrated experience with data entry and using software/applications for creating reports
• Comfortable working in an environment that requires flexibility and the ability to work autonomously with general direction
