HR Specialist

Garda is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist to participate in nearly all programs and services across the HR function. This will include but not be limited to: employee onboarding and offboarding; employee data management; HR operations; talent development; talent acquisition; compensation and benefits administration. 

Essential functions will include but not be limited to the following:

• Manage and update HRIS for payroll administration and record keeping (e.g., onboarding new hires, I9s, personal information, emergency contacts, etc.)
• Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational charts
• Manage internal HR audits, employment verifications, and vendor inquiries
• Assist in the administration and enforcement of best practices, procedures, and policies, providing guidance and support to the business
• Ensure legal compliance with state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline.
• 1+ years of human resources experience with some general work experience (preferred).
• Ability to work independently while handling multiple priorities with speed and accuracy.
• Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented and accurate.
• Must demonstrate strong ethics and confidentiality
• Ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
• Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
