HR Specialist II - Leaves and Accommodations
As a part of the Human Resources team, the Leaves and Accommodation Specialist will work directly with employees in the execution of all leaves, accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and workers' compensation claims.
What You'll Do:
  • Partner with Ball Corporate and our third-party administrator to facilitate medical leaves.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Risk, Environmental Health and Safety, and our insurance and occupational providers for work related injuries and illnesses.
  • Engage in the ADA interactive process with employees and respond to requests for reasonable accommodations.
  • Answer questions and provide guidance to all levels of employees and managers on the leaves and accommodation processes and maintain communication with employees throughout.
  • Provide regular employee status updates to managers and HR Business Partners as needed.
  • Make updates as needed to our Leaves and Absences policy and recommend and implement process changes for efficiencies related to leaves and accommodations.
  • Complete necessary updates related to leaves in HRIS and timekeeping system.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation related to these activities and create and run reports as needed.
  • Plan and organize employee wellness activities including annual fairs and blood drives.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:
  • BS/BA in a related field and 3 or more years of related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Prior ADA administration experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws such as ADA, FMLA, USERRA, and workers' compensation.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors or other HR system preferred.
  • Ability to successfully partner and maintain a high level of credibility with Human Resources and other functions.

Flexible On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three or more days per work week. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Relocation for this position is not available.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $69,000 - $93,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
