Join us as the Global Head of Talent & Development!
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Global Head of Talent & Development to join our Human Resources Team. In this role you will serve as a key member of the HR Leadership team and work collaboratively with HR and business leaders to create and implement innovative talent strategies and initiatives that cultivate peak individual, team and organizational performance.
You will lead our Global Talent & Development team in designing and executing programs and practices that optimize BBH's leadership pipeline and business results, with a focus on learning and development programs, management and leadership development, performance management, succession planning, talent assessments and organizational effectiveness.
You'll work closely with the HR Centers of Excellence (knowledge centers) and HR Business Partners in continuing to evolve our Firm level talent strategy, with an eye on both global and local needs, as well as both enterprise-level and business-specific needs and priorities
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance the talent platform for the Firm, as well as for each business area; understand the respective business challenges and needs and design relevant and applicable talent initiatives, strategies and programs
- Serve as a global subject-matter expert on talent and provide thought leadership, advice and counsel in areas of organizational development, effectiveness, change management, competency development and leadership development; form deep partnerships with HR Business Partners and business leaders to be able to embody a deep understanding of BBH's culture, business strategy, operations, industry and market realities
- Management of a multi-disciplined, global team, including budgeting, performance management, coaching, etc.
- Provide exceptional project leadership experience including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of various scope in a cross-functional and highly collaborative environment
- Leverage strong internal consultancy/business diagnostic skills to translate business requirements into robust talent development strategies, and drive forward new concepts, ideas and approaches
- Track the progress and impact of innovative solutions through comprehensive metrics measuring the strategic, financial and human capital impact
Key Competencies:
- Ability to manage and direct the consistent delivery and adoption of talent strategies, initiatives and programs across multiple disciplines, stakeholders and regions
- Display discretion when handling confidential/sensitive information
- Ability to lead a global team and possess excellent interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment; strong communication and influencing skills in different cultures and/or hierarchical levels
- Expertise in facilitating process improvements both from a strategic and tactical perspective
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
- Adaptability and flexibility to shift between projects or priorities
- Ability to translate detailed, complex information into consolidated key messages for Senior Management
- Strong results and client- orientation
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree; Masters degree strongly preferred
- 10-15+ years experience in combination of business leadership and talent or organizational effectiveness roles; global experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to drive talent initiatives to successful completion
- Strong collaborator with proven success at influencing at all levels
- Strong business acumen with experience working in the business at the executive level
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience leading a planning and budgeting process
- Great communicator including oral and written presentation skills
- Works well in a matrix environment with ability to develop partnership with the global HR Business Partners and other key stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and foster:

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York, NY and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role. BBH's total rewards package recognizes your contributions with more than just a paycheck-providing you with benefits that enhance your experience at BBH from long-term savings, healthcare, and income protection to professional development opportunities and time off, our programs support your overall well-being.
