Job Description
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a highly matrixed and collaborative role. Thomson Reuters is an enterprise business, requiring HR Business Partners to work together in a cohesive and collaborative manner with their business leadership team as well as the regional HR teams and Centers of Excellence to drive the strategic people agenda.
The Director, HRBP - Tax & Legal Professionals will be an integral member of our Legal and TAP leadership teams driving a truly interconnected people agenda that contributes to the operational and financial performance of the business and functions. The role will support Professional Services, Confirmation, and Global Large Law subsegments. In this role, the HRBP will be responsible for leading the execution of the people strategy to deliver business results, as well as creating tailored solutions to meet the needs for the groups they support. The HRBP will provide functional leadership and will also be responsible for leading large- scale change. The HRBP serves as a thought leader to the business leader(s) as well as to the broader HR organization.
About the Role
In this opportunity as HRBP, you will:
- Works in tandem with business leaders to develop business strategy and to translate this to a people strategy, by deriving short/long term talent needs from strategic business plans (emphasis on strategic workforce planning - understanding talent needs of these functions including skill gaps and forecast needs)
- Act as a thought partner and coach to senior leadership, able to contribute on all aspects of growing and managing the business (does not restrict themselves tot talent related discussions)
- Provide strategic workforce & top talent succession planning by engaging with leaders to identify top talent needs and translating those needs into discrete projects and initiatives that flow smoothly to the HR Professionals Pool for execution
- Support leaders with organizational change
- Provide functional-specific talent change management strategy (e.g. hiring strategy for go-to-market in growth region)
- Partner with and coaching leaders on delivering a talent first culture
About You
You're a fit for the role of HRBP your background includes:
- Business, HR degree preferred, relevant Master's degree is a plus
- Track record of designing and being accountable for the delivery of for a global people strategy
- Track record of leading the HR response to changing industry / business environments
- Experience partnering with senior business leaders
- Experience working in global, complex, matrix environments
- Experience actively managing health of an organization (engagement, culture, D&I etc.)
- 10+ years of experience with broad HR responsibilities preferred, less experience will be considered depending on scale and scope of the experience
