Job Overview

As a Solution Architect - HR Technology, you will be an integral member of the AvidXchange Architecture team, planning and delivering technology solutions that drive the efficiency and effectiveness of core business capabilities. You will be accountable for proactively and holistically creating deliverables that guide business models, people, processes, organizational change, and investments in response to disruptive forces and toward achieving targeted business outcomes. You will focus on business strategy and targeted business outcomes - clarifying strategic intentions; identifying business outcomes; exploring implications, impacts, and risks; and addressing stakeholder questions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop business architecture blueprint structures necessary for mapping capabilities, organization, value streams/journeys, information, process models, business events, business rules, stakeholders, policies, products, strategies, and initiatives
  • Align business architectural guiding principles, best practices, and solution patterns with business strategies and architecture roadmaps
  • Conduct maturity, impact, & value assessments of business architecture structures
  • Develops business solutions as well as conducting solution option tradeoff analysis (SWOT, ATAM)
  • Develops business cases and conducts ROI Analysis
  • Engages key business stakeholders at the Director level to support the facilitation of both strategy and innovation planning
  • Ensure alignment with portfolio initiatives based on cost/value/ROI, functionality, and practicality
  • Work collaboratively to ensure the business architecture reflects the reality of the business
  • Leads planning to analyze and identify the value and risks of technology changes in the environment to assist businesses with decisions
  • Researches and provides information on industry & technology trends and competitors' practices relevant to assigned LOB customers and/or capabilities
  • Facilitates architectural designs in support of LOB strategy development, business portfolio development, and innovation for internal business capabilities
  • Participates in the development of cross-business solutions for LOBs that combine knowledge of business processes and issues, general technological options, and process facilitation techniques
  • Provides strategic consultation to assigned LOB customers in defining or designing business capabilities, processes, and functions as well as in researching, identifying, and enabling technologies based on business and end-user requirements

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • BS/MS degree in Business or Technology related field
  • 3-5+ years of relevant business/technology experience
  • Experience developing business architecture blueprint structures necessary for mapping capabilities, organization, value streams/journeys, information, process models, business events, business rules, stakeholders, policies, products, strategies, and initiatives
  • Experience in business strategy, planning, roadmap development
  • Experience facilitating business workshops
  • Experience in business case development, TCO & ROI Analysis
  • Experience, knowledge, or skills in development/delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, etc)
  • Experience, knowledge, and skills in creating business solutions as well as conducting solution option tradeoff analysis (SWOT, ATAM)
  • Experience, knowledge, or skills in Domain-Driven Design, Design Thinking, & Platform-Thinking
  • Experience with business architecture tools and techniques, including strategic planning, balanced scorecard, risks and interdependencies, process models, business capability modeling, customer and user profiling, journey maps, and human-centric design

Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • Experience, knowledge, or skills in business architecture
  • Experience, knowledge, and skills in Business/Enterprise Architecture frameworks
  • (BIZBOK, TOGAF, Zachman, Six Sigma, etc)
  • Experience, knowledge, and skills in Business modeling standards/frameworks (BPMN, ArchiMate, etc.)
  • Business Architecture certification (e.g., Certified Business Architect (CBA®), etc)
  • Experience using industry-standard capability models (BIZBOK, BIAN, etc)
  • Business Technology consulting experience
  • Experience, knowledge, or skills in Product / Project Management
  • Ability to look beyond traditional business concepts and drill to the heart of a given concept
  • Business subject area expertise appropriate to the role and areas being mapped
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives
  • Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
  • The ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business processes and workflow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service delivery
  • Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
