Job Description:

Job Summary: The HRIS Developer develops effective ways for stakeholders to view, use, and understand large complex sets of data. This position designs, develops, and enhances reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal and/or external customers. The HRIS Developer is responsible for complex report writing, query generation, data validation, data visualization and end user education. This position also supports the maintenance and configuration of various human resources managements systems and databases. The HRIS Developer serves as a point of contact for custom integration and reporting and is responsible for being the subject matter expert with JPS data and make available to human resources scheduled and on demand. This position works closely with HRIS Analysts for business requirements for reporting and integration needs.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

  1. Provides subject matter expertise for all core HR and HR-related datasets to JPS end users.
  2. Develops complex SQL queries and has a strong understanding of data models within their assigned focus area.
  3. Engages with end users and takes ownership of reporting initiatives. Seeks to understand reporting needs, builds report specifications and designs reporting solutions.
  4. Displays minimal errors in report/query development by performing basic query tuning, proper data validation steps, reviewing or analyzing data prior to sending to requesters.
  5. Writes and maintains stored procedures, functions, and queries meant to assist the organization in accessing and analyzing HR data.
  6. Develops business critical HR metrics for leadership. Analyzes data to produce dashboards, metrics, insights and visualizations for internal and/or external customers.
  7. Serves as a point of contact for custom integration and reporting and is responsible for being the subject matter expert with JPS data.
  8. Performs other developer related duties to increase the effectiveness of HR data for end users.
  9. Provides technical-functional support of HR applications, including problem resolution, troubleshooting, and recommending solutions. Prioritizes and resolves HR system and process issues.
  10. Assists the HRIS team with system upgrades, configuration, design, maintenance, patches, testing, and other related functions in partnership with IT standard operating procedures. Coordinates with HR teams and other stakeholders to perform testing as needed.
  11. Participates in any new HRIS-related implementation work as a subject matter expert.
  12. Performs regular assessments on systems functionality and offers recommendations that will provide continuous improvement and process harmonization on processes within and outside of HRIS systems. Documents, tests, and implements improvements to various systems utilizing appropriate change management standard operating procedures.
  13. Serves as liaison with the IT department on projects where technical resources reside outside of human resources. Also offers oversight from a project management level for all new initiatives.
  14. Designs, maintains, and documents system processes for HR systems.
  15. Programmatically audits HR data for data integrity often to increase accuracy of HRIS data.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 years of experience in HRIS, Human Resources, or Application Support.
    • OR

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 7 plus years of experience in HRIS technology and application support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BI Reporting experience, with an emphasis of PowerBI preferred.
  • HRIS Systems Configuration experience.
  • HRIS Implementation and release experience.
  • Full Project lifecycle management experience.
