Overview

ExamWorks is seeking an HRIS & Payroll Manager to join the team to manage payroll in both the United States and Canada. This role is 100% remote with occassional travel.

The HRIS & Payroll Manager, North America, manages day-to-day operations of the company's U.S. and Canadian HRIS and payroll function. This position is also responsible for managing the company's daily, monthly, and annual reporting processes. The HRIS & Payroll Manager, North America, plays a strong role ensuring company compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as they related to payroll and employee data compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the U.S. and Canadian HRIS function including, but not limited to, evaluating, testing and implementing system enhancements, maintaining data integrity of system, assigning appropriate access, password resets, analyzing system issues and leading corrective actions, etc.
  • Prepare and ensure timely completion of all audit reporting requirements
  • Create and run scheduled and ad-hoc reports
  • Serves as liaison to government agencies to establish payroll withholding and unemployment tax accounts
  • Oversees U.S. and Canadian payroll functions
  • Resolve associate issues related to HRIS; refers difficult or very complex issues to department head as needed. May need to refer to HRIS vendor to open ticket when necessary
  • Define, develop, maintain, and enforce documented processes, procedures and practices related to the use and administration of the HRIS
  • Work as a liaison between the business units and technology teams to aid in new hire set up, system access changes and/or termination requests
  • Coordinate with unit managers to ensure all HRIS records are accurate and assists with reporting or position changes, reclassifications, and/or unit transfers
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all personnel records and sensitive company information at all times
  • Stay current with employment laws and complies with all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Perform special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by upper management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree ideally in either business administration, human resources or IT required
  • A minimum of five years related experience required
  • CPP or CPM preferred
  • Experience with Paycom is preferred
  • Bilingual in English and French is a plus
  • Must possess strong working knowledge Human Resource Information Sytems (HRIS)
  • Must possess strong working knowledge and understanding of employment laws and best practices
  • Must have strong knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to personnel administration and various compensation and benefit plans and practices
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking and/or responding to questions as needed
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with experience building relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Must have strong analytical skills and ability to interpret employment laws and practices and translate them into understandable terms
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information
  • Must demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment
  • Must demonstrate reliability and abide by the company attendance policy
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common and complex correspondence, employment records, legal contracts and/or state or federal employment laws
  • Ability to write clearly and informatively to all required audiences and edit own work for appropriate spelling and grammar
  • Ability to respond appropriately and professionally to all inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, upper management, and/or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in small to large groups, to top management, and vendors of the company
