The Project Manager II manages larger projects or component(s) of multiple larger projects.
The Project Manager II is responsible for all delivery aspects of the project over the entire life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close). Must be familiar with project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
Responsibilities Project Management
- Assists with brainstorming new projects with clients, client leads, sales, and other teams
- Contributes to planning/brainstorming meetings
- Assists the sales process for new and ongoing projects by confirming and documenting project scope and the project schedule
- Coordinates with Sales/Program Manager to obtain senior management/client approval of the project charter
- Works with internal and external vendors to gather project estimates
- Understands/identifies roles and interests of key stakeholders
- Gathers relevant project information and verifies scope of the project with appropriate contacts
- Prepares for and participates in project planning meetings Assists in development of project schedule and risk management plan
- Assists in identifying internal/external project resources
- Manages/records detailed project requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables, using requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter
- Prepares for and participates in project kickoff meeting(s) Monitors/manages project schedules and risk registers
- Notifies appropriate stakeholders of overall project status
- Assists in creating meeting materials
- Trains the client on tools (reporting, content editor) and trains the various client customer service/help desk teams, as appropriate
- Implements the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate risk events and minimize their impact on the project
- Works with team to ensure all documents are accurate and posted appropriately
- Completes project and process evaluation, scorecard review, ongoing refresh schedule, and attends internal/external debrief meetings
- Provides any appropriate project transitions
- Completes, closes, and archives project documents
- Continuously reviews process improvements/lessons learned
- Celebrates achievements/results with team
- Print Communication
- Develops assembly procedures, recommends delivery methods, advises project teams regarding print, assembly, and/or postage alternatives, including identification of lower-cost solutions when required
- Manages/executes basic assembly procedures, monitors shipping or mailing to ensure/confirm delivery, manages print projects, including proof review/approval, and attends press checks for a wide range of print work Manages production quality for all media to ensure accuracy and that established expectations are met
Digital/Personalization
- Ensures completion of requirements for configuration, internal testing, and client/external testing
- Understands software methodology development processes
Financial
- Understands/Manages financial scope of the project
- Increases financial acumen through the use of appropriate financial tools to ensure billing accuracy and integrity
- Establishes, communicates, and utilizes appropriate project billing codes Works with Buy Team and follows their process to obtain quotes and select outside vendors, and completes requisition and change order requests Works with the Buy Team to complete the Consolidated Buy Process
- Monitors/Manages project budgets
- Manages project scope changes using approved methods
- Tracks outside supplier expenses and scope changes; reviews outside supplier draft invoices in a timely manner; ensures billing accuracy; provides final outside supplier expense summary reports to appropriate team members at the end of each project
- Meets revenue utilization target and recoverability/profitability goals while delegating work to others as appropriate
- Adopts the Operating System and Project Management methodology to create efficiencies and continuously improve standards that drive higher margins/recoverability/profitability
- Helps build the business with existing clients by listening, identifying possible future needs, and pursuing new or expanded work with them. Shares information with the project lead but also takes a larger role in defining and developing the offer

- Demonstrates knowledge of client contracts
Consulting
- Demonstrates basic understanding of client goals and objectives
- Begins to ask appropriate questions to guide clients/client leads on how to meet goals/objectives
- Begins to apply content knowledge in various subject matters
- Begins to develop basic knowledge of employee benefits and HR programs
- Effectively consults on projects with assistance
- Expands presentation skills with clients/client leads; begins to confidently present creative options to clients/client leads; sees a general overall increase in presentation skill level in client-facing situations
- Shares point of view or recommendations based on expertise, best practices, and experience
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge and basic understanding of PMI Project Management process and tools a plus
- Over 5 years of project management work experience
- PMP Certification Preferred.

Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere in between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $77,400.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $172,400.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be bonus eligible.
