HUMAN RESOURCES/PAYROLL SPECIALIST - LAS VEGAS (ON-SITE)

We are looking for a professional and knowledgeable Human Resources/Payroll Specialist with experience to oversee the company's payroll and HR operations. This position will manage and execute the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll and the management of the office. The payroll specialist will prepare weekly payroll reports and other reporting as well as respond to and solve any pay-related inquiries. The ideal person for this position will have great communication skills to interact with colleagues, executives, and employees and can be trusted with sensitive information. This role reports to the Financial Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the point person for office management duties including but not limited to: payroll, employee onboarding, office visitors, office maintenance, assisting with delivery input, mailing, supplies, reconciling employee expenses
  • Provide full-service payroll administration to all employees which will include processing new hires and terminations and employee changes.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple states
  • Prepare and file weekly payroll reports as required by our government contracts
  • Review and analyze current payroll reporting for accuracy and make any necessary adjustments prior to submitting to payroll
  • Maintain accurate records of employee files
  • Resolve all employee issues related to payroll
  • Conducts or acquires employee eligibility verifications and unemployment claims.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, payroll tax and benefits, talent management, and employment law.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Reconciliation and entry of weekly and monthly employee expenses
  • Entry of daily deliveries
  • General business paperwork and other business-related duties as assigned

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of ADP or another similar payroll platform
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to use web-based applications
  • 2-3 years of experience processing payroll
  • 2-3 years of experience managing an office
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • QuickBooks Premier (1+year) or other similar software.
  • Ability to research and investigate discrepancies.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize tasks
  • Multistate and government contract payroll reporting
